Question:

A husband has asked his wife not to watch, or attend the lessons of a particular scholar not because of his knowledge but because the husband does not prefer the scholar?

Answer:

For whatever reason you must obey your husband especially that this scholar is not the only sheikh.  Authentic and sound knowledge brothers and sisters is available online via satellite audio and video.  So if your husband doesn’t want you to listen to this sheikh don’t make this a point of dispute and difference between you and your husband.  So obey your husband and change to another sheikh.  Most likely this problem will arise because of a remark that the wife made about the sheikh such as, I like this sheikh, I like to see this sheikh etc..  So you must be smart and moderate.  Whenever you praise somebody you should say Allah knows best whether he is righteous or not.  Only Allah knows what is hidden.  Your emphasis should be on knowledge so you should admire this part.  I think that he is an authentic source of knowledge and Allah knows best.
